1. Who We Are

MenuCalories ("we", "us", or "our") is owned and operated by Dzmitry Bukuyazau (Poland). Contact: support@menucalories.app.

2. Infrastructure

The App's backend runs on Cloudflare Workers — a serverless edge computing platform. Menu photos are received by Cloudflare Workers, forwarded to the Claude Vision API for analysis, and the results are returned to your device. We use Cloudflare Workers KV and/or Cloudflare R2 Storage for temporary data caching and operational storage. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP address, headers) as part of normal request handling in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with the iOS application ("App"), we collect:

Menu Photos — images you capture or select for analysis. Photos are sent to Cloudflare Workers for AI processing and are not permanently stored.
Analysis Results — the structured nutritional data generated from your menu photos, stored locally on your device.
Usage Analytics Events — screen views, feature usage, device model, OS version, locale, IP-derived coarse location.
Transaction Receipts — subscription status for in-app purchases.

4. How We Use Your Information

Process menu photos using AI (Claude Vision by Anthropic) to identify dishes and estimate nutritional information.
Operate, maintain and improve the App's performance, UX and security.
Protect against fraud.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Menu Photo Data

Photos you submit for analysis are:

Transmitted securely (TLS) to our servers for processing by the Claude Vision API.
Used solely to generate nutritional analysis for you.
Not permanently stored — photos are discarded after processing is complete.
Never sold, shared with third parties for advertising, or used for model training.

6. Third-Party Processors

We share data only with the processors below under GDPR-compliant agreements:

7. International Data Transfers

When personal data leaves the EEA, transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Data Retention

Menu photos — not permanently stored; processed in real-time and discarded.
Analysis results — stored locally on your device until you delete the app.
Raw analytics events — 12 months (aggregated statistics retained indefinitely).

9. Your Rights

You can access, correct, erase, or port your data, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Email support@menucalories.app.

10. Security Measures

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, role-based access control.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

12. Changes to This Policy

Material changes will be announced in-App and via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
